(Re)thinking Borders. Session 2. Borders and (Hyper)Mobility at an American Crossroads: Toward New Territories?
Join us for the second session of the “(Re)Thinking Borders” virtual series, where we will pay close attention to both human and material circulations in the region, and try to understand how these reflect processes of fragmentation in the area, but are also productive of other forms of continuity. With a special emphasis on urban spaces, this session will look into what new territories arise from the utopia-dystopia of universal mobility.

Moderation : Eliott Ducharme, University Eiffel, IdA, CEMCA

Amarela Varela Huerta, UACM.
“Immobility in the Americas. Life practices of moving people; Death practices of moving people, or the counterinsurgency led by regional migration management. Notes from an ongoing process.”

Federico Besserer, UAM-I.
“Hurried borders. A reflection on the (re)bordering of contemporary cities.”

Laurent Faret, University Paris Diderot.
“Borderspace and restricted mobilities between Central and North Americas.”

Oct 28, 2021 10:00 AM in Central Time (US and Canada)
