From the Iranian Revolution to the Kabul Withdrawal
On Wednesday, October 20, the Strauss Center will welcome Kim Ghattas, journalist, author, and analyst with more than twenty years of experience in print and broadcast media, covering the Middle East, international affairs, and US foreign policy.

In this lecture, Ghattas, author of Black Wave, looks back at forty years of rivalry between Iran and Saudi Arabia, unpacks the misconceptions that handicap America’s dealings with the region, and analyses the interplay between the Saudi-Iran rivalry and American foreign policy. This virtual talk will be a part of our Brumley Speaker Series.
