Doing a thesis or report for the master's would require finding a willing faculty supervisor on the ECE Graduate Studies Committee. The ECE GSC includes Assistant, Associate and full professors in ECE, as well as some professors from other departments. The supervisor is the one who guides a student on the thesis or report research. The thesis requires doing original research; the report is less rigorous. It is more common for ECE graduate students to choose the no-thesis/no-report master's degree and complete 10 approved classes.

For the transcript, can I get a physical official copy from the registrar and take a scan of it to submit as a PDF to the application?

Does the ECE program ever admit non-computer or non-engineering students?

If I am applying for course work only masters program do I have to specifically mention it in my SOP?

There are 2 types of transcripts: Consolidated transcript, and Semester-wise transcript. Which one to submit?

I'm interested in the SES track. What dose the admission committee want to see that will make them consider a student a qualified ECE student if the student won't graduate from a relevant major and has no relevant research experience, but has relevant coursework and internship experience?

can I include the research experience that I'm currently working on even though the paper is not publish after I submit my application?

International applicants who are from a qualifying country are exempt from the requirement to submit a TOEFL or IELTS score. Qualifying country list: http://admissions.utexas.edu/apply/qualifying-countries Additionally, applicants are exempt from the requirement if they possess a bachelor’s degree from a U.S. institution or a qualifying country. The requirement is not waived for applicants who have earned a master's—but not a bachelor's—degree from a similar institution.

I'm not so sure the degree I ultimately intend to pursue. I choose Master as the initial degree I intend to pursue and the Doctoral degree as the ultimate degree. Will this uncertainty have a negative effect on the admission?
